Mediate UK began providing family mediation in October 2011 and is the founding brand of the Family Legal Ltd group.

Mediate UK delivers mediation in person at branches across England and Wales and online by secure video call. Mediate UK mediators are registered with the Family Mediation Council. Mediate UK holds a Legal Aid Agency contract for family mediation, so legal aid mediation is available to clients who meet the eligibility rules.

Mediate UK is the largest brand in the Family Legal Ltd group by client volume, and the service the other mediation brands in the group are built on. Family Legal Ltd provides Mediate UK with its systems, training, quality standards and back office support.

Mediate UK is a trading name of Family Legal Ltd. Family Legal Ltd holds the contracts, the insurance and the regulatory registrations that sit behind the Mediate UK service.

Regulatory position

Mediate UK mediators are registered with the Family Mediation Council and work to the Family Mediation Council Code of Practice. Family mediation in England and Wales is regulated by the Family Mediation Council, which sets the professional standards and the complaints route for every registered mediator. Mediate UK is a member of Resolution. Mediate UK is not a firm of solicitors and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, because legal representation is a separate profession from family mediation.
